What a Praying Church Really Looks Like

A praying church is not just a church that mentions prayer. It is a church that depends on prayer.

That kind of church believes God still hears, still cares, and still acts. It believes that prayer is not empty motion. It is an act of faith.

A praying church asks God to save the lost. It asks Him to restore broken families. It asks Him to soften hard hearts and open doors no one else can open. It does not trust in its own resources, personality, or programs. It trusts in the power of God.

That does not mean a praying church is perfect. It means a praying church knows where its help comes from.

Jesus said His house should be called a house of prayer. That should shape the culture of a church. Prayer should not be a quick formality at the beginning or end of a meeting. It should be woven into the life of the body.

That kind of church does not simply believe big things about God in theory. It prays like those things are true.
