Thank You, Lake Lynn, for Giving Us Space to Rest

I want to take a moment to thank our Lake Lynn family for giving Kristie and me the chance to step away for a few days of rest. Ministry is a joy, but like all of you, we carry the weight of life, family, and responsibility. This time away in Aruba with our close friends Jay and Carissa Beard was a gift, and our hearts are full of gratitude.

Our trip was simple and peaceful in all the best ways. We left before dawn, caught our flight out of Dulles, and arrived ready to breathe in warm air and slow everything down. We ate at tiny Dutch pancake houses, found new local spots, and laughed over meals that took us far from the pace of daily life. Kristie and I shared schnitzel in a small Aruban town, tried foods we had never eaten before, and enjoyed open-air cafés where ocean breezes never seemed to stop.

Most of our days were spent exactly where we needed them to be: on the beach, by the pool, or quietly exploring the island. We watched bright orange trupial birds while we ate breakfast, snorkeled around sunken ships, saw sea turtles glide beneath us, and ended almost every night with good food and good rest.

I tell you all of this for one reason.
Because your support made it possible.

You cared for the church. You prayed for us. You encouraged us to take the time. And because of that, Kristie and I came home grateful, refreshed, and ready for the work God has for us here.

Thank you for loving our family so well. Thank you for the grace to slow down. And thank you for being the kind of church that understands how important rest is for your pastor and his family.

We are so glad God brought us to Lake Lynn, and we are honored to walk this journey with you.
