At the Table: Finding Your Place in God’s Family
We all want a place where our name is known, where our presence matters, and where we are missed when we are not there. Home is not just a building. Home is where you are welcomed, cared for, and wanted.
That is the picture the Bible gives us of the church.
In Ephesians 2:19, Paul reminds us that because of Jesus, we are no longer strangers or outsiders. We are members of God’s household. That is family language. The gospel does not just forgive sinners. It brings people home.
Before Christ, we were disconnected. From God and from one another. Sin breaks relationships. It isolates. It leaves people wandering without a place to belong. But through Jesus, we are adopted into God’s family. Not tolerated. Not kept at a distance. Fully welcomed.
That is why church is meant to feel like home.
Not a performance.
Not a weekly event.
Not a place where you sit quietly and slip out unnoticed.
The early church understood this. Acts 2 tells us they devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, prayer, and sharing meals. They did life together. They gathered around tables. They shared joys and burdens. Church was not something they attended. It was a family they belonged to.
That is the heart behind At the Table.
We believe spiritual growth happens best when people sit together, open God’s Word, pray honestly, and share life. Around tables. In homes. In classes. In conversations that go deeper than Sunday morning.
At Lake Lynn, we want to be a place where everyone has a seat at the table. Where people do not have to clean themselves up before they belong. Where grace meets people right where they are.
You are not a stranger here.
You are not an outsider.
There is a place for you.
The table is set.
The chair is ready.
You are invited to come home.
