You Don’t Have to Fix Yourself First
We live in a world that rewards fixing things. When something breaks, we repair it. When life feels off, we try harder. That mindset often bleeds into our faith. We start believing that we need to clean ourselves up before God will meet us.
The Christmas story pushes back against that idea.
God didn’t send Jesus into a palace or a place of control. He sent Him into a stable. A messy, loud, inconvenient place. Jesus entered the world surrounded by animals, exhaustion, and uncertainty. That tells us something important about God. He doesn’t wait for ideal conditions.
Peace is not found in perfectly managed lives. Grace is not earned by good behavior or religious effort. Peace and grace come through a Savior.
So many of us are exhausted from trying to hold everything together. We want to fix our families, our jobs, our finances, and our fears. Christmas reminds us that Jesus carries what we cannot. Salvation is not a reward for effort. It is a gift rooted in love.
You don’t have to fix yourself first. You don’t have to have the answers. You simply have to come.
