The Theology of Divine Interruptions
Modern culture treats interruption as the enemy.
We want efficiency.
Speed.
Momentum.
Yet throughout scripture God frequently works through interruptions.
Moses encountered a burning bush.
Jonah experienced a storm.
Paul met Jesus on the Damascus Road.
Balaam encountered an angel in the road.
Every one of those moments interrupted somebody’s plans.
We often interpret obstacles as signs that something has gone wrong.
Scripture suggests another possibility.
What if the obstacle is actually guidance?
What if the delay is protection?
What if God’s mercy sometimes arrives disguised as inconvenience?
The mature believer learns to ask not only, “Why is this happening?”
But also:
“What might God be protecting me from?”
