The Reality of Demons—and the Greater Reality of God

Let’s be honest: we live in a culture that loves to make demons look cool, mysterious, or even funny. There are movies, shows, and video games that treat the spiritual world like a sideshow. But the Bible paints a different picture. Demons are real. They’re not red cartoon characters with horns and pitchforks—they’re fallen angels who rebelled against God and now work to deceive and destroy.

That sounds intense, but here’s the truth that changes everything: they’re already defeated.

Jesus said in Luke 10 that He saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. In other words, the war’s already over. When Christ rose from the grave, the powers of darkness lost for good.

So yes, spiritual warfare is real, but you don’t need to be afraid of it. Fear gives the enemy too much credit. Jesus has all authority. Demons tremble at His name.

When I was a kid, I used to watch wrestling with my dad. There’s something about watching the bad guy get taken down that feels good, right? Well, imagine that—but multiplied by eternity. That’s what Jesus did to Satan.

So, don’t focus on the darkness. Don’t let fear or fascination pull your attention away from the One who’s already won. Fix your eyes on the light—on Jesus. Because the story of Scripture isn’t about how strong the enemy is. It’s about how unstoppable our Savior is.
