The Danger of Sitting and Soaking
It’s easy to get comfortable in church.
Show up. Sit down. Listen. Leave.
Do it again next week.
And slowly, without realizing it, your faith starts to feel dry.
Not because God isn’t moving.
But because nothing is flowing out of you.
Jesus said:
John 7:38 (ESV)
“Whoever believes in me… ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
Notice that word: flow.
Not sit.
Not collect.
Flow.
Water that doesn’t move becomes stagnant.
It turns into a swamp.
Still. Dirty. Lifeless.
But when water flows, it brings life.
The same is true in your spiritual life.
If all you do is receive and never give, your faith will grow stale.
James 1:22 (ESV)
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
God didn’t design your faith to sit still.
He designed it to move through you.
