Why Children Sometimes See Things Adults Miss
One of the fascinating themes throughout scripture is God’s use of children.
Jesus repeatedly pointed to children as examples of faith.
This wasn’t because children know more theology.
It was because children often possess qualities adults lose:
trust
humility
wonder
dependence
Adults become skilled at analysis.
Children remain open to possibility.
As believers mature, we should grow in wisdom without losing childlike dependence.
The goal is not childish faith.
The goal is childlike faith.
A faith willing to say:
“Speak, Lord, for your servant hears.”
The older we get, the easier it becomes to assume we already know what God wants to say.
The posture of discipleship remains the same at every age:
Listening.
Trusting.
Following.
