Giants Are Real, But God Is Greater
Text: 1 Samuel 17:32–50
Intro
A nine-foot warrior stood taunting the people of God. A teenager with a sling stepped forward. David did not win because he was the biggest or the best equipped. He won because he believed the Lord would fight for him.
Scripture focus
“Then David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts… This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand… that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.’”
1 Samuel 17:45–46
Key ideas
-
Giants are real. Goliath was massive and experienced. Your giants may be fear, doubt, temptation, addiction, or insecurity.
-
The battle is the Lord’s. David refused Saul’s armor and trusted God’s strength instead of human strategies.
-
Faith runs toward the fight. David ran to the battle line. Faith does not deny the problem. It invites God into it.
Take it to heart
Name your giant today. Speak this aloud: “The battle is the Lord’s.” Then take one faith step that moves you toward the challenge instead of away from it.
Prayer
Lord, You are greater than what stands in front of me. I choose to face this giant in Your name. Give me courage, wisdom, and favor. Amen.
